New Tab for Marconi Station on website

In memory of John O Carroll, EI6AH, a new tab has been added to the website, with some history and photos of the original Marconi Station, in Ballybunion, along with the radio interview John did, and some letters he received.

Radio Experimenters in Kerry owe a lot to John, for keeping the history of the Marconi site alive, and it is our pleasure to keep this International Marconi Day event going, and maybe create some more history in the doing, in honour of John, EI6AH..

International Marconi Day 2015

Members of Kerry Amateur Radio Group will be participating in International Marconi Day 2015, as an IMD Award Station.

KARG will be operating, using the club callsign EI1K, from the original Marconi site, which is now located on the grounds of the Irish Language Training College - Colaiste Bhreanainn, in Ballybunion, County Kerry, Ireland.

WAI Locator for this location is Q84
Maidenhead Location IO52

It is planned to operate for the full 24hr duration of the event.

Maurice Collins Memorial Vintage Rally 2015

KARG members Billy EI7CQB, John EI9JO, John, EI3JR and Declan EI9FVB participated in the 2015 Maurice Collins Memorial Vintage Rally at Banna West today.
The weather was fantastic and the event was a huge success, with many visitors inquiring about the club and the hobby. Many visitors will have got their first sunburn of the season today, as the sunshine was enjoyed all day.
 
We were delighted to be able to activate WAI square Q72 and Maidenhead square IO52ci
