About Us

Kerry Amateur Radio Group was formed by amateurs from the County Kerry area, with the goal of promoting amateur radio in the Kerry area, while sharing ideas and making new friends.

We now consist of approx 15 members with a diverse range of backgrounds and experience, but with one common goal, which is to promote and enjoy amateur radio.

Club events include:

- International Lighthouse weekend (approx 3rd weekend in August) activation from Cromwell Point Lighthouse on Valentia island

Lighthouse Ref: IE0001     Grid: IO41uw   WAI: V47

- Portable operations from various locations throughout Kerry county

- International Marconi Day from former Marconi Wireless Station in Ballybunion, Co Kerry

- KARG Club meetings occur on the last Saturday of each month, at the Ballyseedy Garden Centre Cafe, outside Tralee. Meeting time is 11am. All are very welcome to come along, including visiting radio amateurs and anyone with an interest in learning more about Amateur Radio. Watch our Facebook page for event updates.
