International Marconi Day 2017

The Kerry Amateur Radio Group will participate as an Award Station in this year's International Marconi Day event on Saturday 22nd April 2017.

The station will be set up at Colaiste Bhreanainn on the site of the former Marconi Station at Ballybunion, Co. Kerry.

Operation by club members for the full duration of the event from 0000 UTC to 2359 UTC on 22nd April is planned. Two HF SSB stations are planned for this year on the site as well as a HF data station.

Maurice Collins Memorial Vintage Day 2017 - 17th April 2017

KARG will be participating in the annual Maurice Collins Memorial Vintage Day 2017, which takes place on Easter Sunday, 16th April 2017, at Banna, Co Kerry. One active station will be in use during the event. Members of KARG will be present to answer any queries from the public on the hobby. We plan to call in to the IRTS news on Sunday morning at either 11.00am (40M band) or 12 noon (80M band) depending on propagation. 80M will be the most likely band, based on recent propagation.

KARG AGM Feb 2017

Kerry Amateur Radio Group held their AGM on Saturday 25th Feb 2017 at their Killarney venue.
The following officers were elected; Declan Ei9FVB - Chairman, Billy Ei7CQB - Treasurer and John EI9ESB - Secretary/PRO. 
Thanks to all members and visitors that attended.The events of 2016 were reviewed and plans firmed up for 2017 events.

KARG Annual Dinner 2016

Thanks to all that attended yesterdays KARG Annual Dinner at Muckross Cafe. It was very well attended indeed by members from inside and outside the county. The food was top class as usual and the company was even better !!

Next meeting will be the AGM at Castleisland Fire Station on Saturday 28th January 2017.

KARG monthly Meeting Oct 2016

The KARG monthly meeting took place last Saturday at our Killarney venue, per usual at 11am.
Thanks to all members that attended.

A good discussion was had on the 2017 Wild Atlantic Way program, JOTA and of course the annual Christmas club dinner, which will be held at the same venue as last year, at the Muckross Cafe at 12 noon, on Sat 26th November. This will replace the monthly meeting in November.

TransAtlantic Cable linkup with VO1TAC Hearts Content NF

September 17, 2016

Thanks to all members of KARG that participated in yesterday’s event from Valentia Island cable station. The event was a resounding success, with several QSO's made with VO1TAC (TransAtlantic Cable) operating from Hearts Content cable station on the 17M band. This proved to be the best choice due to contest activity on other bands.

Many other QSO's were also made during the event stretching from Indonesia to west coast USA.
